connectingood… together

This is a season where many feel incredibly frustrated. Polarization of political and lifestyle values seem the norm. U.S. culture and our globalized world is constantly moving and changing. It’s hard to keep up, let alone understand others’ perspective.

Below are a handful of current articles, curated especially for gals. It’s input to help you catch up and contemplate… maybe with a weekend coffee. Women are key in changing the bend of worldviews towards collaboration. Our emotional intelligence and keen discernment are qualities needed to create bridge-building postures and lifestyles of inclusivity in the world… Hearing stories with different perspectives is a first step:

A moderate slant ~ This piece was written in response to the pro-choice slant of the Women’s March… seems important to understand historical perspectives.

Leaning liberal ~ I have gal pals who marched, as I did; and, those who chose not to…why we need more conversation with deep listening postures.

Leaning conservative ~ Have always loved Michael Gerson’s writing and humor. His explanation of conservatism is really good here.

Raising kids ~ Exposure and balance in our competitive Western culture is definitely a tension. Think deep, mamas!

Kids worldview ~ Still pondering this. The ending rap privilege video is good; yet, this teen has certainly not lived enough life to fully unpack many realities within his words. Yet, he gives hope… some kids are thinking deep!

What is dual thinking? ~ This is a great overview of black & white and “in the grey” moral thinking by my favorite Franciscan, Father Richard Rohr.

Poetry ~ “With That Moon Language” by Hafiz

Admit something: Everyone you see, you say to them, “Love me.” Of course you do not do this out loud, otherwise someone would call the cops. Still, though, think about this, this great pull in us to connect. Why not become the one who lives with a full moon in each eye that is always saying, with that sweet moon language, what every other eye in this world is dying to hear?

Please Laugh ~ If you haven’t seen this, it’s pretty funny. Leave it to the Dutch.

That’s it, ladies… live justice, love mercy and walk humbly. Lov Di ~ February 2017
